Tak Tak Boost! Community Club

Tak Tak Boost! provides opportunities for artists, makers, and entrepreneurs for development and growth in their career journeys. In this Community Club, we’ll address table set-ups for makers selling their wares at markets and pop-ups. Use these sessions as an opportunity to brainstorm with fellow makers and share ideas about successful merchandising, effective brand story-telling, and target any areas of improvement.

There are 3 sessions for Tak Tak Boost!:

  • Session 1: Saturday, August 22nd, 3-6pm

  • Session 2: Saturday, September 19th, 10am-1pm

  • Session 3: Sunday, October 11th, 10am-1pm

For each session, you may book your spot as:

  • a Vendor - a person displaying their wares, whose work will be discussed and makes contributions to discussions.
  • an Attendee - a person not displaying their wares, can participate in discussions if they choose to.

All sessions are held at the Future Front - 1900 E 12th St, Austin, TX 78702.

In each session, there are 8 vendors spots available for setting-up their wares for discussion. A 6ft table will be provided for each vendor. Vendors can arrive up to 1hr before the session begins to set-up. During the session, we will spend 20mins at each vendors’ table to discuss their display and provide constructive, thoughtful feedback for them. Vendors are required to stay through the duration of the session. Attendees may sign up to participate in the discussions, but will not set-up any of their own work. Attendees may come and go throughout the session.

As a vendor, please only sign up for one session to allow for other makers to have this opportunity. As an attendee, you may sign up to attend as many sessions as you’d like.

Tak Tak Boost! is hosted by Risa Recio, founder of Tak Tak. Her glassware brand has taken her to markets and pop-ups in Chicago, New York, San Francisco, and across Texas. By bringing together 8 years of retail experience and a decade of classroom critique, her goal is to empower makers with display and merchandising strategies to encourage the longevity and visibility of their body of work.
